The Morning Routine That Gets Me Out of Bed Each Morning

You guyssss - I finally have a morning routine that I ACTUALLY look forward to!!! I used to be the type who would do the bare minimum in the morning, I’d literally get up, brush my teeth, do basic skincare, and then leave to go to work. This didn’t set me up for a good day ahead, it honestly made me feel more stressed and tired! I would also find myself having to rush to get to work each day instead of leaving myself the proper amount of time to take care of myself in the morning. I don’t have any habits like journaling each morning (I was using the 5 minute journal for a while but ended up not continuing), or not using my phone for the first hour. While those are probably great habits to get into, they’re just not realistic for me at this time.

Ok now that I explained what my mornings were like before, let’s get right on into the morning routine that gets me out of bed each morning.

First, let me say that while I do have this morning routine that I look forward to each day, I also still am the type to be so excited to get into bed at the end of each day lol. I also understand not everyone has the luxury of working from home and creating their own hours, so just be sure to create a morning routine that works for YOU and your lifestyle :-).

I typically like to try to wake up between 6:30-7:00 each morning. Some days it takes me longer to get up than others, and I just accept that lol. I always head to the bathroom to take out my retainers/aligners and put on my contacts. I’ll then head downstairs and take my pre-workout. This is new for me and I have found it to be SO helpful for my morning workouts. Before I started taking pre-workout, I would always be dragging during my workouts and I would always just feel so exhausted. I know pre-workout isn’t for everyone, but I really have been liking it before my workouts.

I will then head upstairs and get my workout started. Again, I feel really lucky that I don’t actually have to leave my house to workout so there’s not much time between each step of my morning routine. I typically workout for anywhere between 30-60 min. I use the peloton app - I love their cycling classes and their strength classes as well. There are definitely days where I dread working out, but I always feel SO good afterwards!

After my workout I’ll head back downstairs and drink my greens. I currently take greens from Bloom and I’ll be honest, they taste just like Athletic Greens and they seem to have the same effects for me. I like them both but love that the Bloom greens are more affordable!

After I drink my greens I’ll shower and do my full skincare routine which has transformed my skin. I’ll then get dressed and some days I’ll do a full face of makeup, and some days I won’t. Since my skin has been so clear lately, there has been less days of full face makeup which has been nice! But I will say there are days where putting on makeup makes me feel more productive.

Once I’m done getting ready, I’ll come downstairs and have breakfast. I usually have turkey bacon, toast, eggs, an english muffin, or something along those lines. I’m usually ready to sit down for work before or by 9:00.
