My Current Haircare Routine
Hi everyone! In todays post I'm sharing my current haircare routine with you! Enjoy!
Let me start out by telling you my hair type: I have VERY thick hair. It is usually very frizzy and very wavy. It takes FOREVER to dry because it is so thick. It holds a curl well and straightens pretty easily. Now let's talk about what products and steps I use to get my hair under control!Step 1 - Shampoo & Conditioner: I was recently sent Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner. I had never heard of this brand before but boy am I glad that I have it now. This brand is amazing because you can completely customize your shampoo and conditioner based on what type of hair you have! All you have to do is pick your hair type (straight, wavy, curly, etc.), pick your hair structure (fine, medium, coarse), pick your scalp moisture (dry, normal, oily), you get to pick 5 hair goals that you have (deep condition, fix split ends, anti-frizz, etc.), you even get to pick the COLOR of your shampoo & conditioner, and the SCENT of your shampoo & conditioner. SO amazing. The scent I picked was sandalwood violet, and it smells AMAZING. I seriously recommend this shampoo & conditioner! Here's details on my shampoo & conditioner set:Hair Type: WavyHair Structure: CoarseScalp Moisture: normalHair Goals: hydrate, lengthen, anti-frizz, shine, and soothe scalpFragrance: sandalwood violetGET $5 OFF YOUR SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER SET HERE!Step 2 - Leave In Conditioner: I am a huge fan of leave in conditioner. My favorite one ever is this one and I also love this one! I love them because they smell amazing and I truly do believe that they help my hair. If I don't use a leave in conditioner, then my hair is more knotty & I feel like it breaks easier and that causes more split ends!Step 3 - Smoothing Lotion: Like I said before, my hair is very wavy and frizzy, and to help combat that, I use this Moroccan oil smoothing lotion! OMG you guys this stuff smells amazing. I typically use one pump and smooth it throughout my wet hair. I'll brush it through with my Wet Brush and it seems to do the trick!Step 4 - Styling Treatment: I never thought about using a "styling treatment" before, but once I was introduced to the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day: 5-in1- Styling Treatment, I knew I needed it in my life. I typically use this product right before I blow dry my hair. It's great because it helps speed up the drying time (thick hair = slow dry time) which is great. It also really does help reduce frizz and takes away some of the waviness of my hair. I really love this stuff. Oh and did I mention it smells amazing??Step 5 - Dry Oil: My sister is the one who introduced me to this product. I use this one after I blow dry and straighten my hair. It helps take away any frizz thats left (clearly I'm very concerned with frizz). It really does make your hair have a nice shiny look & that's what I love about this product. So those are the products that I use on a daily basis. Now I'm going to talk about the products that I tend to use when I'm going to curl my hair. Once my hair is dry, I like to spray the Dry Bar triple sec 3-in-1 to add some texture to my hair. Once I do this, my hair holds a curl much better. After I'm done curling my hair, I like to use another texturizing spray, the Oribe dry texturizing spray. I use this lightly and it adds the perfect amount of texture to keep my curls together! Now let's talk about hairspray. I'm not a fan of sticky hair or crunchy hair (I don't think many people are...) so I love to use a hairspray thats very light but will still hold the style. I recently got Living Proof's Control hairspray and I love it. I use it after I curl my hair, after blow drying my hair, and after straightening my hair. I don't even feel like there's hairspray in my hair, but it keeps my hair in place all day which is amazing. I have two other favorite hairsprays - this one and this one. Both of those are lightweight hairsprays as well.
There ya have it! My current haircare routine! I hope you enjoyed this post!
