Morning Skincare Routine

My Morning Skincare Routine

Hi everyone!! Can you believe it's already JULY??Now that summer is in full force, my skin has been pretty dry from the sun. Fortunately, I have gotten a good morning skincare routine down pat. My skin reacts very well to each of the products that I currently use. I’m going to share with you each of the products I use, the order I use them in, and the reason why I love these products so much.My Morning Skincare RoutineLet me start off by explaining to you what type of skin I have. My skin can be very dry at times, and oily at others—this is why when I found a great skincare routine, I stuck to it. I also have acne prone skin, but lately with this routine, my acne has been under control (for the most part). Unfortunately, my acne has left some scars on my face, but the skincare regimen that I have been using has helped with that as well.

Step 1

My Morning Skincare RoutineThe first step to my morning skincare routine is washing my face. I feel like this wakes me up in the morning and somehow helps me get moving when I roll out of bed. The face wash that I have been using recently is this Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control .  I love this face wash because it is gentle but still gets the job done. It claims to treat acne before it even emerges, and I have seen this to be true. The best part about this face wash is that you can get it right at the drugstore!

Step 2

My Morning Skincare RoutineNext I like to use Bioderma, a cleansing water that is very gentle on the skin. I like to use it because I feel like it gets any excess dirt/sweat/etc. that didn’t fully come off when I washed my face. I simply pour some of the cleansing water onto a cotton rounds (my favorite brand to use is Swisspers, but any kind will get the job done!) and wipe my face with it. This is a great product, but unfortunately it is hard to get in the United States. I usually order it on Amazon. However, I have heard that a good dupe for this product is the Simple Micellar Facial Cleanser Water.

Step 3

My Morning Skincare RoutineAfter using Bioderma, I like to go in with a toner. My current favorite toner is Murad Hydrating Toner. A toner is used to even out the complexion of your skin, and I have definitely noticed a change since I started using a toner religiously. I love this one by Murad because it is gentle but still effective. I know some people spray it right onto their face, but I like to use the same technique as I do with Bioderma. After this step, I feel refreshed and awake and as if my face is finally clean!

Step 4

My Morning Skincare RoutineIf I do happen to have a few angry pimples on my face I like to use Neutrogena's Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel as a spot treatment. So far, this has been a great alternative to expensive products that I have tried in the past. It can be bought at the drugstore and I feel like it is just as effective as any high end acne creams.

Step 5

My Morning Skincare RoutineI feel like the most important step in my skincare routine is a serum. The serum that I use currently is Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum with Willowherb. This stuff is AMAZING. I have already repurchased it 3 times because I love it THAT much. This skin care is targeted towards people in their 20s. It is supposed to help with anti-aging, which I am a big fan of. I also love this product because it agrees with my skin—I have not had a major acne breakout since I have started using this. I highly recommend this product!

Step 6

My Morning Skincare RoutineSince my skin has gotten drier throughout these warmer months, I started using the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream for extra dry skin. Let me start out by saying that this stuff smells AMAZING. The scent is not too strong or overwhelming. This is my current favorite moisturizer because it truly hydrates my skin. It is not sticky like some other moisturizers that I have tried in the past. Its very lightweight and effective at the same time. While this may be a bit pricey for a drugstore product, I feel like it is totally worth it.

Step 7

My Morning Skincare RoutineThe last step to my morning skin care routine before putting on my makeup is an eye cream. I have been using this Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. This is the best morning eye cream that I have tried. It has a tint to it and a bit of an illumination to help cancel out any dark circles. I feel like this product alone instantly makes me look more awake and alive. Origins products and my skin get along very well. This is another must have product for me—it’s worth a try!

Let me know in the comments what products you guys like to use!
