Amazon Home Decor Inspo + My Thoughts on What's Going on Right Now

Hi friends! I know I haven't said much on my Instagram about what is going on right now and that's because I'm truly not educated enough in the topic. Which is embarrassing to say but it's the truth. I grew up in Westport, CT which as many of you probably know, is a dominantly white town. Some would say I grew up in a "bubble" and I really can't argue that. I also went to college in Fairfield, CT - which is super similar to Westport. I know I'm privileged and I won't deny that. That doesn't mean I don't want to help and make a difference.

All of that being said, I know it's time to educate myself on the subject at hand and DO something about it. I have always been taught to LOVE everyone and BE KIND to everyone, but I know that's not enough. I became a teacher because I truly have so much love and kindness to spread and I want to share that with my students so they can hopefully learn to love everyone and be kind to everyone regardless of what they look like - whether they have different skin color, different eye color, can't walk the way we walk, etc. It shouldn't matter and I will continue to teach that to my students and my future children one day.

I will continue to educate myself and listen to the voices that have not been heard in the past. I will continue to share resources with you guys and use my platform to spread kindness and encouragement. I will continue to be myself in the sense that I care about everyone and I strive to spread kindness.

I'm also going to continue to share my regular content (as well as resources about the Black Lives Matter movement) for a few reasons. One - it's my JOB. I have to make a living especially because I just purchased a house and have many more bills to pay now. Two - I love sharing my every day life with you and deals and clothes and all of that. I feel like I need some more positivity in my life and you guys probably do too. If I'm wrong, feel free to unfollow me. Three - I realize that I have a following and I know I need to use my voice for this but I also feel wrong flooding my stories and feed with posts that I don't typically share. While I am 1000% for the Black Lives Matter movement, I feel that it won't seem genuine if I'm all of the sudden sharing all of these posts when I never have before. I hope this makes sense and I hope you understand.

One thing will always remain true to me - kindness is what matters over everything. If you're going to spread hateful and mean messages about some of us influencers who are going to continue to do our job (while supporting the BLM movement), then you should not be following me at all. I DO NOT think it is ever okay to send hateful messages or leave mean comments - you are part of the problem if you decide to do that. Please, please BE KIND and be respectful of others. We need each other to get through this and sending hateful messages is NOT going to help the situation.

Anyway, on a lighter note, I wanted to share a bit of Amazon Home Decor Inspo! I've been browsing Pinterest lately and trying to find some home decor that I think would look great in my new house! Here's a quick little collage I threw together with some inspo! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below :-)
