WEEKEND IN SALEM & MARBLEHEAD

hi everyone! if you follow me on instagram then you already know that we spent this past weekend in Salem & Marblehead, MA. nick and i had both never been to either town so we were really excited about this trip! i'll share a bit of what we did, where we ate, and where we stayed in today's post!

where to stay

our first stop was in salem, ma. we arrived on saturday night to The Hotel Salem. this was such an adorable hotel right in downtown salem. you walk in and you're welcomed by the cutest little restaurant called Counter. the front desk was easily accessible when you walk in. check in was super easy and quick and we were led right to our spacious room on the first floor.

the hotel room itself was SO cool. we had a loft style room so we walked in and there was the bed and bathroom area downstairs. then there was a set of stairs that led to a little hangout area where we could hang out on the couch or watch tv! it was really such a cool concept. we also liked that the toilet and shower were separate from each other. the shower was really nice and the bed was super comfortable!

in marblehead we stayed at Hotel Marblehead which was absolutely ADORABLE. if you ever travel anywhere in the area, i HIGHLY recommend Hotel Marblehead. we pulled up to this hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the appearance of it. it was a beautiful historic home that was built in 1871.

you walk inside to a beautiful lobby area with tons of natural light. there's a cute little sitting area with a fire place and comfy couch. check in was so easy and quick and we were led to our room which was just as welcoming and adorable as the lobby. the bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was so nice. we had everything that we needed and could not have felt more comfortable in Hotel Marblehead.

where to eat

salem: we ate at the counter on friday night and it was DELICIOUS! we tried a ton of different appetizers which were all so yummy. nick and i especially loved the mac n cheese, hummus & bread, and the french onion soup! i ordered bolognese for my meal and it was SO good. their dessert was also so good!

for breakfast in salem we ate at a place called brew box! this place was really cool because they used "cereal milk" in their lattes. i guess they have different types of cereal milk on different days. when we went the cereal milk of the day was "lucky charm" cereal milk. i obviously had to try this! it was delicious! i also got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit. i loved that it was on a biscuit - so yummy!

in marblehead we ate at the landing for dinner! it was such a cute place! it was right on the water and we got there to see the end of the sunset. they brought us out a bunch of appetizers (nick and i are both so picky so we didnt really eat any of them but everyone else said they were delicious!!)

for dinner nick and i both got a chicken and pasta dish with pesto! i ordered mine without tomatoes and artichokes and it was delicious! they also had a killer brownie sundae for dessert.

we ate breakfast the next morning at Hotel Marble head. they had a nice spread!

we also checked out Shubie's while we were in marblehead. it's such a cute little store with a large assortment of knick knacks and grocery items. we went specifically for a wine and beer tasting and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

salem and marblehead are both such cute towns! here are a few more pics of the areas!
